The thing about writing a book is that you can just keep fiddling with it and the only thing stopping you is that publisher's deadline. As an editor I have had 11th hour corrections which have actually turned out to be authors tweaking their stories. The hardest thing is knowing when to let go.
Which could be extended to other parts of life.
Knowing when to let go of a friendship you have outgrown.
Knowing when to let go of something that cannot be fixed.
Or when to let go of your anxieties and just enjoy the moment.
Meanwhile, I have one week left with my latest YA novel, Six, until I finally wave goodbye to it and hand it over to my editor.
You give birth to them, you do the best you can, then you send them out into the world...

Finding the mobile phone line
After the crossing of the line yesterday (re woman talking on the phone in the toilet cubicle next to me) I have decided to conduct a poll as to where other lines are re using mobile phones.
I would like to start the ball rolling with people talking on mobiles in the cinema. Although, depending on the movie, sometimes their conversation can be more entertaining...
